I am a teacher and scholar based in southeast Wisconsin with an outstanding record
of commitment to student success in higher education. I’ve taught first-year rhetoric
& composition for over a decade at Marquette University as well as mid- and upper-
level creative writing courses and literature surveys. You can find a variety of pedagogical
resources and representative documents on this site from these courses, as well as
older material from its predecessor courses in Marquette’s First-Year English Program,
under the Teaching tab at the top of the page.
As a scholar, I specialize American literary journalism of the mid-20th century with
particular focus on the New Journalists and gonzo journalism. You can find a list of
my publications, projects and presentations, along with the fun new things I’m working
on now, on my CV page and under the Scholarship tab above.
Enjoy your visit, and if you have any questions, please feel welcome to drop me a line
